Named 2017 TLSC Manager of the Year
Michael Davis, CCM, CCE, General Manager of The Park
City Club in Dallas, Texas, was named Manager of the Year by his peers of the
Texas Lone Star Chapter (TLSC) of the Club Managers Association of America
(CMAA). This prestigious award is given
annually to a club manager who exemplifies professionalism in club management
and embodies the characteristics, ethics and standards toward which all
practitioners of club management should strive.
“Mike personifies the spirit of this prestigious award. His passion for people is unparalleled and
all who know him have benefited from his generosity and infectious
personality. Mike’s substantial contributions
to our association over the last three decades have advanced the organization
and the club management profession,” says Ryan George, Immediate Past President
of the Texas Lone Star Chapter.
Davis began as a server with The Park City Club in 1990 and was soon promoted
to Assistant Manager. Davis was name General
Manager of the Park City Club in 1999. In 2000, Davis earned the designation of
Certified Club Manager (CCM), CMAA’s hallmark professional certification. In 2012, he was inducted into CMAA’s
prestigious Honor Society, symbolizing a lifelong commitment to excellence in
the field of private club management. In
2013, Davis earned the designation of Certified Chief Executive (CCE),
demonstrating his extended tenure as a senior club management executive. He is a Past President of the Texas Lone Star
Chapter of CMAA (2007) and is the seventh recipient of the Chapter’s Manager of
the Year Award.
The Texas Lone Star Chapter will honor Mr. Davis
during the Chapter’s Fall State Meeting Awards Dinner at The Fort Worth Club on
November 12, 2017.
TLSC - The Texas Lone Star Chapter is the local
professional chapter of the CMAA. The Chapter’s 250 members operate over 140
clubs throughout the state of Texas. Established in 1948, the chapter provides professional
development and resources to its members and encourages the professional growth
and community involvement of its members.
